Julie Mehretu at Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen

An exhibition of works by Julie Mehretu opens at Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen this May. Titled ‘KAIROS / HAUNTOLOGICAL VARIATIONS’, the exhibition is the artist’s first mid-career survey in Germany, presenting almost 100 works in the museum’s K21 Ständehaus space.

The exhibition will bring together works that span the breadth of Mehretu’s career, from early urban-inspired line drawings of the 1990s, to more recent large-scale abstract paintings. A selection of source material and works on paper, some of which have never been shown before, will also be on view.

‘KAIROS / HAUNTOLOGICAL VARIATIONS’ is organised in collaboration with the Pinault Collection, following ‘Julie Mehretu. Ensemble’ at Palazzo Grassi, Venice, in 2024.
